I am a 56-year-old hobby musician, guitarist, and amateur songwriter. I’ve been playing in bands since I was 13, but I’ve now (temporarily) put live performances on hold.
I’ve spent my entire life working as a teacher in primary school, and also as a principal. A few years ago, I felt completely drained and wanted new challenges.
A position opened up at Balsfjord School of Music and Performing Arts, and it was a perfect fit. I initially worked as a teacher in guitar, bass, and band.
Eventually, the position as head of department became available, as well as the principal role at the school.
I applied and got the job, so now I have a combined position involving leadership and teaching at the school, as well as an ICT role in adult education in Balsfjord—plenty to do, but I truly enjoy both roles.
In the fall of 2024, I began further studies in music at the Norwegian Academy of Music, which I completed in the spring of 2025.
